Woman, 13-year-old girl stabbed in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two people were injured Tuesday night in a stabbing incident in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.

Police confirmed that officers responded to a home along Northwest 63rd Street around 11 p.m. in reference to an aggravated battery.

Police said a 13-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman were injured in the incident and both were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

On Wednesday morning, Local 10 News reporter Annaliese Garcia spoke with the teenage victim, who had a bandage on her neck after being released from the hospital.

She said two people were arguing and she tried to break it up before she was stabbed.

“I tried to stop it,” the victim said. “It was, like, a knife, knife – like a pocket knife or something bigger. I don’t know.”

The teen said her stab wound was deep, but she is doing OK.

At least one person was taken into custody for questioning, but it’s unclear whether any arrests have been made.
