FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 22-year-old man appeared before Broward County Circuit Judge Michael A. Usan on Saturday — facing 11 charges related to the sexual exploitation of children.

Attorney Mark Eiglarsh told Usan during a bond court hearing that his client Logan Brian Konicke doesn’t have a criminal history and has ties to the community.

“If he was ever going to flee, he would have done it two weeks ago,” Eiglarsh told Usan during the hearing about Konicke’s awareness of a police investigation.

Eiglarsh said officers with the Plantation Police Department denied his request to allow Konicke’s surrender and showed up where Konicke works with JetBlue to arrest him on Friday.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies booked Konicke on Friday at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale where he remained Saturday afternoon facing 10 counts of possession, control, or view of depiction of sexual conduct by a child and one count of knowingly compiling, entering into, or transmitting by use of computer child pornography.

“We are going to fight these charges,” Eiglarsh told Usan in court.

Despite Eiglarsh’s request for Usan to set a $1,000-$5,000 bond per charge, Usan set Konicke’s bond at $10,000 per charge, which added up to $110,000.

Usan also ordered Konicke to avoid contact with minors, avoid accessing the internet, and avoid using smartphones. According to county records, BSO was the arresting agency in Konicke’s case.
