MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami-Dade woman was arrested Sunday after her 3-year-old daughter was found barefoot and alone, walking on a roadway, authorities said.

Miami-Dade police said Jung’s 1-month-old son had also been left home alone in the 8100 block of Northwest 17th Avenue.

Police said officers tried to locate the girl’s parents for over one hour before they made contact with Jung’s boyfriend, who told them that Jung had informed him that she was going to the store with one of her children to purchase diapers.

According to the report, Jung arrived home on a bicycle a short time later and was taken into custody.

Police said Jung claimed that she had left her children with her boyfriend.

Her newborn son was found by police laying on a blanket on the floor of the family’s home with no one else inside, the report stated.

Police said both children were soiled and the baby boy appeared to be malnourished and had a large rash on his chin and severe diaper rash.

Jung was arrested on two counts of child neglect without great bodily harm.

As of Monday afternoon, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $1,000 bond. She was also being held on an out-of-county warrant.

Police did not immediately confirm who currently has custody of Jung’s two children.
