Antaun 'Young Chef' Teasley shot, killed June 10 at Mansion nightclub

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The family of a private chef shot and killed at Mansion nightclub is pleading with the public to come forward with any information about the shooting.

Antaun "Young Chef" Teasley was shot and killed June 10 during a confrontation in the club's VIP area.

"You live by the sword. You die by the sword," mother Janice Edwards said at a news conference Tuesday. "He lived with a spatula. He lived with forks and knives and spices and things of health and nature that God has given us. He loved to see the smile on the face when he would prepare a meal."

Teasley was a private chef for the Miami Heat's Norris Cole, Mario Chalmers and other South Florida athletes.

So far, no witnesses have come forward and police have no leads.

"Don't be a coward like that person that killed my brother," Robin Teasley said.

Police said it is too early in the investigation to determine if Teasley was the intended target in the shooting.

"He didn't die in his sleep. He didn't have a heart attack. He was violently (taken) from us," Edwards said. "Was it that important? Was it that serious to take a life? When you take a life, you take a whole lot of people with you."
