Man, 93, injured when car crashes into Verizon store in Port St. Lucie

Police say woman, 82, accidentally drove car through store

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – An elderly man was injured Friday after a car crashed into a Verizon store in Port St. Lucie.

The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. at a Verizon wireless retail store on U.S. Highway 1.

Port St. Lucie police said Helen House, 82, was attempting to park when she accidentally crashed through the store.

The car struck Thomas Ochalek, 93, who was sitting at a sales associate's desk at the time.

Ochalek was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.

House wasn't hurt.

Police are investigating the crash.
