According to an arrest report, surveillance video showed Dean inside a Kwik Mart  Aug. 17 at 5551 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd. before he followed a woman outside and snatched her purse from her arm.

The woman told deputies that Dean got away with $225 in cash and her Bank of America card, which she cancelled immediately afterward.

Deputies said the victim was not able to identity Dean in a photo lineup, but said Dean confessed to the crime Tuesday while being interviewed by detectives at the Broward County jail.

Detectives said Dean also identified himself in the surveillance images and told them that he was addicted to the drug flakka.
