MIAMI - Part of downtown Miami was shut down Monday morning because of a security incident at the Israeli Consulate.
The FBI said a 52-year-old man was involved in an incident with security personnel at the Israeli Consulate in Miami.
A bomb squad was called to Southeast Third Avenue and Southeast Third Street, just west of U.S. 1 and just north of the Miami River. From Sky 10 overhead, a suitcase could be seen next to a tree in the shut-down area.
The FBI said investigators searched a case belonging to the man and deemed it not to be dangerous. No injuries were reported.
The man was arrested and is expected to face federal charges, according to the FBI.
Miami-Dade police and members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force are investigating, the FBI said.
