Man exposes himself to woman sunbathing in Coral Gables, police say

Incident captured on surveillance cameras Oct. 3.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. ā€“ Coral Gables police have released surveillance photos of a man they said exposed himself to a woman who was sunbathing in an enclosed area in the back of an apartment building.

The man was captured on surveillance cameras walking in the 200 block of Mendoza Avenue on Oct. 3 and scoping out the area.

Police said the man approached the woman, exposed himself and then ran off.

Many residents told Local 10 News that they are fearful because a similar crime happened just one block away.

According to police, a man wearing a ski mask went inside a home on Menores Avenue on June 2 and sexually assaulted the woman who lives there.

Police have not said whether they think the two incidents are related. For now, officers are stepping up patrols in the area.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect in either case is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
