A roach in the rice at Jade Flower, live roaches at a Mario the Baker and mold in the ice machine at Chick 'N Chop on the Grill in Pembroke Pines.
Those are just some of the violations found by an inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation last week.
Below is a list of all the restaurants ordered shut and some of their violations.
All the restaurants listed were allowed to re-open following an ordered cleanup and re-inspection.

"Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. There was a total of 21 plus live roaches found. Location 3 live roaches found in the cracks of the can opener , 3 live roaches found under the shelf over the reach in cooler on the cook line , 5 live roaches found under the table in the across from the dish machine, 10 plus live roaches found on the shelf in the back where clean pots and pan are stored across from the walk in cooler."
"Dead roaches on premises. 10 dead roaches in the back storage area."
"Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of food borne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items."
"Live, small flying insects in food preparation area."
"Dish machine chlorine sanitizer not at proper minimum strength. Discontinue use of dish machine for sanitizing and set up manual sanitization until dish machine is repaired and sanitizing properly."
"Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food prepared onsite and held more than 24 hours not properly date marked. marinara sauce."

"Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Observed live roach in container of cooked rice. Also observed 20 live roaches in cabinet under rice cooker and 12 live roaches behind cabinet, 6 live roaches on storage shelf above food prep counter across from 3-compartment sink. A total of 39 live roaches."
"Nonfood-grade containers used for food storage - direct contact with food. Observed newspaper used after frying to store foods, operator removed."
"Build-up of food debris, dust or dirt on nonfood-contact surface. Observed on shelves across from cook line."
