SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. ā€“ A man has been arrested for burglarizing a home in Southwest Ranches in 2011, authorities say.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said a surveillance camera was rolling when three men first tried breaking into the home. The men fled the scene when a burglary alarm went off, only to return a few hours later on June 8, 2011, deputies said. The men were able to break in and steal jewelry and cash at 2:27 a.m.

The Broward Sheriff's Office released surveillance video of the crime in 2011. Detectives said the video showed gun-toting burglars wearing masks and gloves, and possibly a police badge, enter the home through the back patio.

Authorities said Andres Amador, 30, of Homestead called BSO to say he was the guy on the news, but he was just making a delivery, not committing a burglary.

Detectives said they determined Amador and Silvestre Romeo Romero, 28, of Miami were involved in the burglary.

A third man on the video has not been charged.

Investigators said Amador is seen in the video driving a black Cadillac Escalade EXT to the front gate of the home. The men fled when they set off the burglar alarm, authorities said.

Amador was arrested on March 17 on a charge of attempted armed burglary.

An arrest warrant was issued for Romero, who is in federal prison on unrelated charges. Romero's charges include attempted armed burglary, armed burglary, grand theft and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
