Miami Beach police investigate possible case of animal abuse

Cat euthanized due to severe laceration to head

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach police are investigating a possible case of animal abuse after a cat was found with a severe laceration to the side of its head.

Police said the cat was found Tuesday inside the parking garage of the Bay Garden Manor condominiums at 1250 West Ave.

According to an incident report, the cat was found bleeding from the side of its head and couldn't move.

Police responded to the building and could not locate anyone who witnessed the injuries happen or the owner of the cat.

The cat was taken to the Miami Beach Animal Hospital where it had to be euthanized due to the severity of the injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police.
