Miami Beach police investigating 2 shootings

At least 7 arrested after parties on beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach police detectives have released a person of interest who was questioned in a fatal shooting Sunday morning along Ocean Drive.

Antoinne Decade, 20, was killed in the shooting which occurred along Ocean Drive at 10th Street, near the Clevelander hotel, at 12:40 a.m., according to police.

Decade was shot in the chest and died at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, police said.

Witnesses said the man was shot after a fight broke out in the street.

Police said that the parties involved in the shooting are Miami-Dade County residents and knew one another.

No one was apprehended at the scene, and areas of the 900 and 1000 blocks of Ocean Drive were closed to allow police better control of the crowds. The person of interest who was questioned has not been identified.

The second shooting happened at 12:58 a.m. along the 700 block of Ocean Court, police said.

Shell casings have been found at the scene, but police don't have evidence that anyone was shot, and no suspects or victims have been identified.

The shootings come on the heels of a very rowdy spring break weekend. At least seven people were arrested after parties on the beach got out of control Friday.
