Miami firefighter arrested on child porn charges

Investigators say Alexander Rousseau had child porn on laptop at fire station

MIAMI ā€“ A Miami firefighter has been arrested on possession of child pornography charges.

Alexander Rousseau, 30, was ordered held without bond Monday.

According to the FBI criminal complaint, Rousseau had more than 200 files of child porn on a laptop at the fire station where he was assigned.

Investigators said he downloaded the child porn in his lap top while on the job at Miami fire station No. 6.

The report said Rousseau admitted to downloading and watching some of the files.

His attorney had little to say about the allegations.

"I know nothing about the charges at this point," attorney Joel DeFabio told Local 10. "It's too premature."

Lt. Ignatius Carroll said Rousseau had been an employee since October 2007.

"The city of Miami Department of Fire-Rescue has been made aware of an ongoing investigation and subsequent arrest involving one of our employees," Carroll said in a statement. "Throughout this process our law enforcement counterparts have exhibited the highest degree of professionalism and integrity."
