"Letter carriers are government representatives who perform an important public service," said Wifredo A. Ferrer, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida. "The U.S. Attorney's Office is committed to working alongside federal and local law enforcement agencies, in our effort to identify and prosecute those who target and steal from government employees."

"Earlier this year, we asked South Florida residents to help us in keeping our letter carriers safe by taking a moment to look around when they see them," said U.S. Postal Inspector in Charge in Miami, Ronald Verrochio. "It was just this kind of vigilance that helped apprehend this subject."
