Miramar barn catches fire

911 caller reported animals trapped inside

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A fire destroyed a Miramar barn where several animals were reportedly trapped inside.

The fire started shortly after 6:30 p.m. at Southwest 132nd Avenue and County Line Road.

Neighbors used their cellphones to capture the intense flames.

A Miramar Fire-Rescue Department spokesman said someone called 911 to report that there were four dogs and a cat inside.

However, neighbors said they only remember seeing a dog living on the property.

Neighbors told Local 10 News they were fearful the flames would spread.

Firefighters said it took hours to get the flames under control.
