Police said they were given descriptions of two vehicles involved in the thefts, a white Lexus c200 hatchback and a black Mercedes Benz.

While patrolling the area, the detective saw a white Lexus heading north on Southwest 178th Avenue.

Police said the driver, identified as Richard Ibarra, 24, turned east on 30th Street and turned into the Marina Pointe community.

The detective said he passed Ibarra, who was driving in and out of several streets and stopped him once Ibarra tried to exit the community.

According to the report, Ibarra rolled his window down and the detective saw multiple packages on the passenger floor board and in the backseat of the car.

The detective said he asked Ibarra why he was in a private community and Ibarra said he was "looking for my friend."

The detective said Ibarra could not say where the friend lived.

Ibarra was asked to exit his vehicle, and he told the detective that he "(expletive) up," and he admitted to stealing the packages from four homes, the report said.

Ibarra was arrested on charges of petty theft and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling.
