New book teaches kids about money

Miami attorney David Bianchi simplifies investing, money management

MIAMI – Miami attorney David Bianchi wanted to make sure his son Trent understood how money works.

"So I thought, I will write a few things down, and one thing led to another and we have 230 pages on a hundred different topics and a 160 kid-friendly cartoons," Bianchi said.

Biachi's book is called "Blue Chip Kids," and he has been receiving rave reviews for the way it simplifies investing and money management for parents and children.

His son Trent is thrilled that there is something to help fellow teenagers.

"Some kids don't have too much of an understanding about money," Trent Bianchi said. "Some kids just go up to their parents and say, 'Hey, may I have some money? Or (they) spend it on video games."

Some local Girls Scouts happened to be at Local 10 News when Bianchi stopped by and they learned the basics in a quick talk.

Bianchi signed a few copies of his book for them as they parted saying, "If kids will read this book , if parents will read this book, they will learn a lot more about money."

The book is available at several major book stores and on Amazon.com.
