MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. -

After several delays due to weather, a new fence is about to be installed at Gratigny Plateau Park.

Construction workers began putting up the fence early Monday morning at the park that will open at Northwest 8 Avenue and 117 Street in Miami-Dade County, and there’s still more to come.

"The playground has already been delivered. It’s at our shop in Kendall," said Jay Farni of Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces.  "We’ll open the bids, we’ll award the contract and, hopefully by next week, we can start putting in the playground."

The new park is expected to open to the public Aug. 6.
