North runway closes at FLL after plane's landing gear malfunctions

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ā€“ The north runway was closed Monday morning at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after a small plane experienced landing gear issues.

Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said the Cape Air plane, which had "Resorts World Super Flights" emblazoned on the side, landed on pontoons.

Airport officials said no one was injured.

The runway reopened shortly after noon.
