A Miami-Dade police officer shot in the stomach by an armed robbery suspect was released from the hospital over the weekend.
Saul Rodriguez spent several days in the hospital after his confrontation with Adrian Montesano on Dec. 10.
Montesano, 27, tried robbing a Walgreens in the early morning hours, say investigators. After he left, he shot Rodriguez at a nearby trailer park and stole his patrol car.
Montesano (left) and another man, 50-year-old Corsini Valdes (right), were later killed by police.
Two other police officers suffered gunshot wounds. They have since been treated and released.
