One-wheeled skateboard investors hope it will improve mobility

Urban.Us believes OneWheel will be key helping mobility in big cities

MIAMI – Pioneers at Urban.Us believe that OneWheel, a one-wheeled skateboard invented by Kyle Doerksen, will be a key in improving future mobility through big cities.

"It uses technology very similar to a cellphones," said Stonly Baptiste, entrepreneur and investor in OneWheel through his company, Urban.Us. "The technology inside essentially tells it where to go through minimum weight distribution, and it just takes you there."

Baptiste's company focuses on investing in startups that it thinks will positively impact the future.

OneWheel is just one of 100 other startups that will gather at the Smart City Startups event taking place April 23-24 in Wynwood.
