Some residents displaced after fire at Ola Condominiums

16 adults, 5 children receiving temporary shelter from American Red Cross

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A four-alarm fire destroyed multiple units Sunday morning at a northeast Miami-Dade County condominium complex, displacing several residents.

The fire was reported by a tenant who noticed thick smoke pouring out of building A.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting out of the third-floor windows at the Ola Condominiums on Northeast Sixth Avenue.

Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue Chief Luis Torres said firefighters rescued several victims, including a pregnant woman.

The intense flames caused the roof on the third floor to collapse.

Nobody was injured, but there was smoke and water damage to the condominium.

The American Red Cross was assisting 16 adults and five children, providing temporary shelter.

Several residents believe arson is to blame, but fire investigators have not made that determination yet.
