MIAMI – Police took two people into custody Thursday evening following a police chase through Miami-Dade County.
The driver of a white Audi pulled over at Northwest 44th Street and 16 Avenue about 5:10 p.m. She and another women were quickly handcuffed.
The chase began about 20 minutes prior when Opa-locka police officers responded to a Wells Fargo branch for a call about fraud, said city spokesman David Chiverton. The driver then tried running over an officer.
After the driver stopped, smoke began pouring out of the car, igniting the grass.
