MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Miami Gardens police are looking for a man who tried abducting a 9-year-old girl as she was outside her home with her 4-year-old sister.
The incident happened in the 1500 block of Northwest 189th Terrace on Aug. 23.
The girl was checking the mailbox with her younger sister when the man drove up to them, police said. He opened the driver side door and told the 9-year-old girl to get inside while trying to grab her.
"He said, 'Get in the car, you little girl,'" said the girl.
She and her sister then ran back into the house as the man drove away. The girl said her grandfather, a former bus driver, always told her to run if a stranger approached her.
Police described him as a black man in his 30s with a tattoo of a wasp on his left hand. He had blue eyes, short black hair, and was clean shaved.
The man was driving a 2001-2004 white GMC 1500 pick-up truck.
