Police search for missing FSU student

Ryan Uhre last seen Feb. 2

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Police continue searching for a Florida State University student who was reported missing Friday.

According to a report, Ryan Uhre was last seen on Feb. 2 around 9:10 p.m. leaving Andrews Capital Grill and Bar on Adams Street in Tallahassee.

Ryan Uhre, who reportedly graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High in Fort Lauderdale, was last seen alone, walking on the south side of the building.

Police said at this time there is no indication that there was foul play involved.

Ryan Uhre's father, Mike Uhre, spoke to Local 10 News Reporter Ben Kennedy on Sunday about his concerns.

"By Thursday we were getting concerned," he said. "My younger son called and said, 'Dad, I am not reaching Ryan, something is up.'"

Ryan Uhre's father is also hoping phone activity will help police find his son.

"We believe there was phone activity on his phone on Thursday in (the) Broward County, Pompano Beach area, so we are kind of focusing our efforts here right now," he said. "I texted him on Monday, I didn't hear from him. I texted him probably Tuesday evening and Wednesday, I didn't hear from him, so I called and it went right to voicemail."

"I'm worried," said friend Mark Weiss. "I'm thinking worst case scenario, but I'm a glass half full kind of guy, so I think he's down here. I know we're going to find him."

Anyone with any information on Ryan Uhre's whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 574-TIPS.
