Officers were responding to armed robbery call

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Police chased down and shot two men near Florida State University's main campus in Tallahassee Monday afternoon, while responding to a 911 call.

"It was for an armed robbery in progress," said Scott Beck, Tallahassee Police Department spokesman. "Our officers found the suspect vehicle, attempted to stop the suspect vehicle. There were two suspects that fled during the ensuing chase. At least one officer discharged his firearm and there were two suspects injured as a result."

It is unclear whether the suspects shot at the officers first, or if it was one or both officers that fired a weapon.

Both suspects were taken to the hospital and are in custody.
