Pompano Beach convenience store clerk opens door for man who robbed him

BSO releases surveillance video of March 14 robbery at Rite Way Food Market

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A clerk at a Pompano Beach convenience store opened the door to a robber whom he thought was a customer.

The Broward Sheriff's Office released surveillance video of the March 14 robbery at the Rite Way Food Market.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said Mohammad Hossain opened the door for a bearded man shortly after 11 p.m. As Hossain walked back to the counter, the man followed him inside and placed something in his right hand under his shirt.

Insinuating that he had a gun, the man forced the clerk behind the counter and demanded cash from the register, Carter said. After Hossain opened the register, the man reached in and grabbed the cash.

Anyone who recognizes the robber is asked to call detectives at 954-321-4270 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
