Report: Mystery Ringo photo shot in NYC, not Miami

Teens in picture identified as being from New Jersey

Is it any wonder why Ringo Starr wasn't anyone's "favorite" Beatle?

After starting a wild hunt for the teenagers spotted in a photo that Ringo says he shot in Miami Beach back in 1964; it now appears that the picture was not taken in South Florida after all.

The Miami Herald reports that it was probably shot in New York.

Starr, 73, started a frenzy earlier in the week by saying he wanted to meet with the six teenagers that drove alongside the band. The Beatles drummer said the photo was taken while the band was visiting Miami Beach during their first U.S. tour.

However, the Herald says it was contacted by an attorney from Boston who recognized the kids and went on to identify all of them. Of the 6 teens in the picture, the attorney said two have since died.

The attorney claims that the kids were from New Jersey and skipped school to greet The Beatles when they landed at LaGuardia Airport in New York on Feb. 7, 1964.

Starr has yet to comment on the report, but it appears that South Florida Beatles fans can stand down.
