A female officer was placed on administrative leave for firing her weapon about 15 minutes later.

Carlos Lakeith King, a veteran fire captain with the North Charleston Fire Department in South Carolina,  5 a.m. King was charged with DUI

and the man arrested in the second shooting on Washington Avenue.

"I got a guy with a purple shirt - 14th and Collins. We got him covered."

Dispatcher:   "We got a second hotel with a gunmen. Tell me what's going on with that."

Officer:  "The gunman with the firearm entered that hotel from the rear."

"I don't know what happened. I was driving south on Washington Avenue behind a car that was cruising too slow. I drove around him and the traffic light was red," King told police. "I crashed into the police car that was parked in the middle of the street."

"I am not drunk," he continued. "I only had one beer, no...maybe two or three."

Charges against King were dropped.
