Feroza Harrinarine accused of lowering prices at register, stealing

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Coral Springs Police Department arrested a Walmart employee after it was discovered that she was stealing from the store.

Feroza Harrinarine, 53, was arrested on Monday and jailed on multiple charges of theft at the Walmart store at 3801 Turtle Creek Drive.

The arrest came after an investigation showed Harrinarine was using her cash register to lower prices of items she was purchasing as well as taking items from the store without paying.

A Walmart asset protection manager met with officers and detailed a series of incidents from October 9 through October 30 in which Harrinarine lowered prices by as much as almost nine dollars.

In other instances, the manager witnessed Harrinarine concealing items in plastic bags and leaving the store without payment. Harrinarine was also seen using fraudulent receipts to exit the store.

Walmart estimates that the store's losses totaled $210.96

Harrinarine was charged with computer crime with intent to defraud, obtaining property under $20,000 by fraud and petit theft.
