Sisters sexually assaulted during home-invasion robbery, police say

Police seek man, release sketch, video of attacker

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police detectives are investigating a home-invasion robbery in which two women were sexually assaulted, police said.

According to police, an armed man wearing a hooded sweatshirt forced his way into an apartment Saturday in the area of Northeast 195th Street and Northeast Second Avenue and robbed and sexually assaulted two sisters.

Local 10 News reporter Glenna Milberg spoke to the victims Friday, who said that the intruder followed the younger sister into their home at about 5:30 a.m.

They said the man pointed a gun at them and their brother and made them undress.

"I was cooperating the whole time," the 20-year-old sister said. " I did everything he said. He had a gun to our head. I didn't know whether the gun was loaded and I didn't what he was capable of ."

After sexually assaulting the woman, the man took the woman's 27-year-old sister into another room and raped her, the siblings said.

"It's not a good feeling, someone entering home, going and doing things unwillingly," the older sister said.

The brother was not physically attacked.

Police released a sketch of the man and surveillance video of him outside the apartment complex.

Detectives are asking for the public's help in finding the man.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
