Taser used on man flying drone over volcano

Ranger: Suspect was going to run over cliff

A Hawaii park ranger deployed his Taser on a man flying a drone over a volcano, according to an Associated Press report.

The ranger apparently asked the man three times to bring down his unmanned aerial vehicle. The man allegedly ran away when asked to identify himself. It's illegal to fly unmanned aircrafts inside a national park.

According to Hawaii news station KITV, the ranger said he deployed his Taser because the man was about to run off a cliff near the edge of the volcano's rim.

The man subdued was identified as Travis Ray Sanders, The AP reported. He eventually brought the drone down.
