Thief distracts Dunkin' Donuts employee while accomplice steals cash drawer

BSO releases surveillance video of distraction theft

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office released surveillance video Tuesday of two men who coordinated a distraction theft at a Dunkin' Donuts in Oakland Park.

Surveillance video shows how the November theft occurred.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said one of the thieves knocked on the front door and got the attention of the only employee in the restaurant while the other thief entered through the back door. That thief took the cash drawer, which was placed on a baker's rack, and ran out.

The video shows one of the men as he wipes off the fingerprints from the back door with his shirt sleeves.

Anyone who recognizes the thieves is asked to call BSO detectives at 954-202-3118 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
