Three shot in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Police said a robbery gone wrong has sent three people to the hospital Monday after a shooting in Miami Gardens along 175th Street and Northwest 40th Avenue.

According to police, between 4 and 4:30 p.m., two men were working on a Mercedes car when they were approached by four men who tried to rob them. At least one of the robbers and one of the victims were both armed and a shootout ensued.

Officers said one of the victims is in the hospital, as are two of the suspected robbers. One of them was in critical condition and two were in stable condition. One of the men shot may have been shot in the head.

A witness said he heard several shots and saw a man on the ground, bleeding. He said he saw two others running through his yard and firing shots as they ran and jumped into a getaway car. At least two suspects are still on the loose, police said.

Miami Gardens police have blocked off the area and are on the scene investigating.
