Tractor-trailer driver dies in Pembroke Park crash

Driver strikes two parked 53-foot trailers, BSO says

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A truck driver is dead after a crash Friday in Pembroke Park, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

A tractor-trailer was heading north around noon through the freight access area at 3550 Pembroke Park Road when it struck two parked 53-foot trailers, deputies said.

The driver then backed into the entrance lane, striking cones. Deputies said he notified security about the crash and shortly after was found unresponsive.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue took the driver to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, deputies said. The driver was not identified.

Detectives suspect the crash may have been a result of a medical episode as their investigation continues, the Sheriff's Office said.
