Victoria Dempsey died in Fourth of July boat crash

20-year-old student was adventurous and loved the ocean

MIAMI Victoria "Tori" Lyn Dempsey loved being out in the sun. She loved the beach and going on adventures.

The 20-year-old died Fourth of July after three boats collided off Dinner Key Marina. She was with friends on her way to Monty's restaurant in Coconut Grove.

"She was a beautiful person who was full of love, laughter and life," Alli Rubin posted on Facebook. "She could light up any room."

Dempsey graduated from Miami Southridge Senior High. On her Facebook, the thrill-seeker had pictures sky diving, fishing, snorkeling and kissing a dolphin.

For her 20th birthday, she went to ride an ATV in the mud. She also liked going driving her white Jeep.

Dempsey "always had everyone around laughing," Dawn Slattery Fraga said on a memorial Facebook page.

Dempsey's memorial is at 5 p.m., Friday, at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church, 14401 Old Cutler Road, in Palmetto Bay.

She was survived by her brother Ryan Dempsey, sister Jenny Dempsey, her parents Mike Dempsey and Michelle Farrand, and her boyfriend Thomas Sims.
