Fort Lauderdale Police Detective Kevin Dupree said employees became suspicious of the duo because the couple filled up their shopping cart, left it by the entrance and then walked out.

Dupree said the man then went back into the store and pushed the cart out before the couple filled their trunk with the stolen goods.

The video shows a good Samaritan trying to block the white Dodge Charger from leaving with his pickup truck, and an employee placing a shopping cart behind the car before it sped off with its trunk open.

Police said about $2,000 worth of power tools were stolen. They said the couple is believed to have been involved in at least four other shoplifting incidents.

Anyone with information about the identity of the couple is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
