PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -Kim Lindsey, a South Florida nurse who went missing since Sunday.
Lindsey's family, who made an emotional plea in front of the media Thursday, was not present at the vigil.
Instead, friends, coworkers, and students from Bak Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach gathered to show support for the ongoing search efforts.
"If there could be perfection in a friend, and in a partner, and in a nurse -- she is it," said coworker Roberta Azrak.
"It's a sad circumstance. Somebody knows something," said friend Terry Reed.
Bak students who attended the vigil said the mood around school has been somber since Lindsey disappeared.
"We all miss her being around and everybody's feelings are just let down, and it's really quiet around school," said student Madison Wood.
"I just want to know she's okay, and alive and healthy and not hurt," said Jessica Oks, also a student.
On Friday, WPBF, Local 10's sister station in West Palm Beach, reported that blood was discovered inside Lindsey's house. The source also said a sheet was missing from the bed in the master bedroom of the home.
A day earlier, law enforcement officials reported that a body was discovered in a sugarcane field in Clewiston, about 80 miles southwest of Palm Beach Gardens.
"Detectives will follow up with Hendry County Sheriff's Office, Fort Myers Police Department and Lee County Sheriff's Office to determine if this unidentified body has any ties to Palm Beach County," read a statement from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
Friday night, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office identified the body found in Hendry County as Kimberly Lindsey.
