BARDSTOWN, KY. - One photo thoroughly describes the bond between a person and their dog.
Jason Ellis, a 33-year-old officer from Lexington, Kentucky, was killed last Saturday in a suspected ambush. His canine partner, Figo, held vigil during Ellis's funeral. During the services, a photographer with the Lexington-Herald Leader, captured Figo lifting his paw on top of his owner's casket. He bowed his head slightly, clearly mourning his loss.
Police Chief Rick McCubbin told the Associated Press that Figo and Ellis were "true partners."
Figo has been retired and will live with Ellis' family.
The photo was posted on Reddit where it has been widely circulated.
