MIAMI -

More South Florida flights were canceled or delayed on Monday because of weather, airport officials say.

At Miami International Airport, there were nine weather-related flight cancellations on Monday, along with 25 delays.

At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, 17 cancellations and 24 delays were reported on Monday.

The cancellations and delays come after a massive storm hit the northeast this week.

Those traveling this weekend are encouraged to call the airline before heading to the airport, or check the status of U.S airports by clicking here.

A massive winter storm packing heavy snow and bone-chilling temperatures buried parts of the U.S. in as much as 2 feet of snow late last week and has kept a good part of the country in sub-zero temperatures this week.
