Woman opens fire on car parked at Lighthouse Cove Resort

Shooter seen on surveillance video firing into red Chevrolet Volt

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. ā€“ Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for a woman who was seen on surveillance video opening fire into an unoccupied car last month at a Pompano Beach resort.

The shooting was caught on camera early on the morning of Jan. 9 at Lighthouse Cove Resort.

BSO spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said the woman arrived at the resort in a white Kia Soul, snuck around the resort's bar and fired several shots into a red Chevrolet Volt. One bullet struck the car's trunk and four more struck the driver's side.

Oglesby said the woman then ran through the parking lot and was seen leaving in the Kia Soul.

The owner of the car was staying at the resort and told a BSO deputy that he doesn't know who would want to harm him.

Anyone with information is asked to call the BSO at 954-493-TIPS.
