CORAL GABLES, Fla. - A 46-year-old woman faces two counts of attempted murder after holding her parents in their home and injuring them.
It is unclear whether the woman was holding her parents captive, but at some point they were able to leave the house on E. Sunrise Avenue in Coral Gables and call police.
According to police, the woman tried burning and cutting her parents.
The parents were then taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and the woman barricaded herself inside the home. The SWAT team was called and police managed to get the woman out of the home.
Officers monitored the home overnight and planned to do a search on Monday. The woman's name wasn't immediately released.
