Wonder boycotts Florida concerts over Zimmerman verdict

Singer says state needs to abolish 'Stand Your Ground' law

QUEBEC CITY, Canada – Popular singer Stevie Wonder says he'll boycott performing in Florida until the state abolishes its Stand Your Ground law.

Wonder, 63, made his announcement during a concert in Canada on Sunday night, a day after George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin.

During the performance in Quebec City, Wonder said "Until the Stand Your Ground law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again... wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world."

The Stand Your Ground law made headlines in the Zimmerman trial and allows the use of force for self-defense if someone feels threatened in their home or business.
