Messi buys waterfront mansion, puts down South Florida roots

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Lionel Messi just made his move official.

The Inter Miami superstar closed on a waterfront mansion in South Florida on Sept. 1.

Messi paid just under $11 million for the 8-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom and nearly 11,000-square-foot home in Fort Lauderdale.

The Bay Colony Community is a small, gated community off Commercial Boulevard and U.S. 1 near Fort Lauderdale. The location makes perfect sense for the star player; it is only a 10-minute commute to Drive Pink stadium where Inter Miami plays.

Inter Miami has not been beaten since Messi joined the squad earlier this summer.
