Cristobal said, ā€œHe earned trust in the fact that heā€™s up there in the office every waking free moment that he has. He gets there early and he leaves late.ā€

Cristobal said Ward spends time with all his teammates.

The former Washington State quarterback appreciated the praise from his head coach.

Ward said, ā€œIt means everything. Me, myself playing a lot of football thatā€™s something that I feel as a quarterback you have to win over the guys in the locker room.ā€

Ward said in order to win that trust is to be a team player with the coaches and teammates.

Ward said, ā€œItā€™s been everything that I expected when I came here. The cultureā€™s perfect for what Coach Cristobalā€™s been doing. Iā€™m just happy to be here.ā€

Ward said that he has enjoyed the fishing in South Florida, but isnā€™t a big fan of the traffic on the road.

Ward said that he has had to make an adjustment from thinking that heā€™s ready for the NFL draft to knowing that heā€™s not yet done in college.

Ward said, ā€œThereā€™s still food left on the table for myself, for this team.ā€

The Hurricanes have their Spring Game on Saturday.
