Marlins option RHP Max Meyer to Jacksonville, send Jake Burger to IL

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins are sending Max Meyer to the minor leagues.

The right-handed pitcher has 2 of the Marlins 3 wins on the season.

He’s being optioned to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

The team is reportedly watching his innings count carefully because he’s coming off of Tommy John surgery.

The Marlins also sent infielder Jake Burger to the injured list.

Burger has a left intercostal muscle strain.

The Marlins are bringing back pitcher Edward Cabrera from the injured list.

The Fish also recalled infielder Otto Lopez.

The Marlins open up a series with the San Francisco Giants on Monday night.
