Alabama fan from viral video talks getting tickets

Man, son prepare for BCS National Championship game as video tops 9.2 million views on YouTube

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. ā€“ On Christmas Day, University of Alabama fan Don Buckhannan received the best present of his life.

"[I] had no clue what was about to come," said Buckhannan.

A video of Buckhannan receiving tickets to the BCS National Championship game has been viewed more than 9.2 million times on YouTube.

"I was very much excited about the hat, so yeah, hot diggity dog, I liked this hat," he said.

But his son Daniel had hidden the tickets inside of the hat.

"I knew what an extremely hard ticket this is to get and we've never been to a bowl game, much less a national championship game. I saw that and I immediately knew what my son had done for me," said Buckhannan. "We're pulling for Bama. Win or lose we're going to have a blast."

"Well, I was very excited. My wife [was] a little less excited because she knew what I paid for the tickets," said Daniel Buckhannan. "But no, I was very, very excited to just get to come to a game like this."

The video has turned the father and son into celebrities. Crimson Tide fans said hello to the pair as they tailgated outside Sun Life Stadium ahead of the game. They also appeared on ESPN and ABC's "Good Morning America."

"It's surreal. There's no words to describe how crazy it is," said Daniel Buckhannan.
