Booker T. Washington, Bolles to play for state title

Booker T. Washington, Bolles to play for state title for fourth year in row

What's on the line for the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes as they travel to Orlando to take on Jacksonville Bolles? How about 40 straight wins and three consecutive state titles.

Booker T. has made itself known as not only a South Florida powerhouse, but a nationally elite team over the last three years. The Tornadoes currently hold the record of consecutive wins in Dade-County (39) and are coming off a High School National Championship win led by current defensive end of the Miami Hurricanes Chad Thomas.

Thomas' former coach and current Defensive Coordinator for the Tornadoes,,Nitron Stork, is excited with the opportunity to win three straight titles, but he's making sure his players are mentally prepared for the task at hand. "We've played this same team, Jacksonville Bolles, four consecutive times, so being a kid they kind of get laid back and things like that," said Stork, "but staying on them and keeping them working, we were able to get them prepared."

Saturday will be the last time Booker T. seniors put their pads on, and for starting safety Terry Jefferson, it'll be an emotional day. "It's going to mean a lot for me," said Jefferson, "It's gonna feel wonderful knowing that I'm doing this not only for myself, but for my family, my community and the rest of my city."

Booker T. and Jacksonville is set to kickoff Dec. 6 at 7:07 P.M.
