Chiefs beat flat Dolphins, 34-15

Miami falls at home

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Kansas City Chiefs beat a flat Miami Dolphins team Sunday, 34-15.

Both teams played without their starting running backs.

Jamaal Charles and Knowshon Moreno were out.

Kansas City got on the board in the second quarter when Knile Davis ran for a 21-yard touchdown.

The Chiefs extended that lead to 14-0 on an Alex Smith 20-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce.

The Dolphins added a field goal before the half to go into the break down 14-3.

In the second half, after the Dolphins defense caused a turnover, Ryan Tannehill hit Brian Hartline for a 1-yard touchdown.

Hartline was flagged 15-yards for celebrating with his teammates by imitating a golf swing.

On the ensuing drive, the Chiefs scored again.

Alex Smith threw a touchdown pass to Joe McKnight.  The Chiefs were up 21-10.

The Dolphins made it interesting later in the 3rd, when Smith was sacked in the endzone by Randy Starks for a safety.

The Dolphins were down just 21-15.

In the fourth quarter, Kansas City put the game away when Smith found McKnight again for a touchdown pass.

The Chiefs grabbed a 27-15 lead.

Former Canes running back Lamar Miller rushed for over 100 yards for the Dolphins.

The Dolphins (1-2) travel to England to face Oakland (0-3).
