BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – For the second time in less than three weeks, former Florida State and NFL wide receiver Preston Parker has been booked into the main Palm Beach County jail.
The former Atlantic Community High School star from Delray Beach was arrested late Monday night in Boynton Beach on charges of marijuana possession and resisting arrest without violence.

Boynton Beach police said Parker tried to hide the marijuana in his Chevrolet Malibu after a traffic stop on Miner Road.
According to an arrest report obtained Tuesday by Local 10 News, as soon as Parker saw the police car, he put the car into reverse and struck a mailbox. The arresting officer said Parker also threw a clear plastic bag out the window.
The arresting officer wrote in the report that there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.
According to the report, Parker said he knew that he was going to be stopped because of the illegal tint on his car. After the officer asked Parker for his vehicle registration, Parker tried to hide the marijuana in the center console and ignored the officer's orders to stop what he was doing and to show his hands.
Police said Parker again tried to reach for the center console after he was asked to get out of the car, at which time officers grabbed him by the arm and pulled him out. Police said Parker refused to be placed in handcuffs and was detained after a brief struggle.
Parker's arrest is his fifth since 2006, when he was still with the Seminoles, and second in Palm Beach County since last month. He was arrested by Boca Raton police on felony drug and gun charges on March 31.
In November 2006, Parker was arrested in Tallahassee after police said he tried to steal a DVD. He was arrested again in April 2008 after police said he was found with a gun and marijuana. Parker's third arrest in January 2009 -- this time on suspicion of driving under the influence -- ultimately led former Florida State coach Bobby Bowden to kick him off the team.
Parker spent his senior year at the University of North Alabama and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He was released in 2012 and spent the 2013 preseason with the New Orleans Saints, but he was cut prior to the start of the season.
The New York Giants signed Parker in 2014, but he was released in September 2015 and hasn't played since. He amassed 1,054 yards and five touchdowns in five NFL seasons.
